🌟5 SEXY SPEED DEMON STARS🌟Unfortunately, I just now finally got the chance to read this book, even though I have been so ready for it ever since I finished book 1, Skin! But it was also amazing to be able to read this and then immediately dive into book 3, Star, and read them back to back! Let me tell you, I was on a BB high for days!! This picks up BB’s journey after Knight has left to go into the marines and things have ended between them badly. BB is 16 now and finally has her license and a car...which leads to her meeting the sexy as sin mechanic and speed demon, Harley James! Total flirt, adorable, older, and just enough of a dangerous vibe to make BB know she has to have him! I’ll tell you this...I immediately adored Harley and was all for him and BB being together...until things changed and you realize there’s more to some people than meets the eye. I was right there with BB emotionally, torn between what was right and wrong, how to deal with her feelings for Knight that wouldn’t go away even tho she was terrified of him, how to feel about falling in love again with Harley, and a million other things she had to endure and deal with emotionally. I won’t spoil anything, but I will say that I did not see it coming the way things ended!! As always, BB is a total bada** and I can’t ever get enough of her! Through all the good and bad, the laughs and tears, the joy and pain, I felt every emotion and was invested completely! There’s soooo much more I could say but I won’t....just go read these books!!!! BB Easton is a f***ing genius and I bow to her!!! This author's writing really blows me away. I love that I can actually see everything she writes perfectly in my head. I feel like I am actually there at times. For example, something so simple as this scene, was written in a way that I could actually see it and feel the sunlight peeking through:"I heard a loud clang as Harley pulled the garage’s sliding metal door closed and secured it with a padlock. He looked at me and smiled. The sunlight had turned orange and was coming in sideways, illuminating all the tiny specks of pollen and dandelion fuzz floating in the air between us."I also love all of the humor that the author infuses into her writing. One of my favorite lines from this book is:"I wasn’t dating a mechanic. I was dating m*therf^<&ing Batman."I adored reading Speed and reading about BB and Harley, but I will say that I am still Team Knight! One thing that I really loved was that there were so many references and things that I remember from when I was that age. I think the author and I might be the same age. This was like a blast from the past. I love how relatable it all was too.Speed was fantastic. I highly recommend this series. If you haven't read these books yet, start at the beginning with 44 Chapters About 4 Men, then read Skin, and then Speed. I am so excited to start Star next! I have been reading these on Kindle and also listening to the whispersync audible, but I will most definitely be adding all of these paperbacks to my home collection.Audible: I added the whispersync audible narration to this kindle book. I really liked the narrators straight narration, her BB voice and her female voices, but the male voices didn't really do it for me. Overall, the audible was still really good and worth a listen.
